Is your service available nationwide?

Currently, our services are available across Mid Sussex, East & West Sussex.

why don't cemeteries maintain graves?

Most cemeteries and churchyards typically provide basic maintenance, such as lawn mowing and rough edging, but they do not have the capacity to trim and inspect each individual memorial. The primary responsibility for grave maintenance lies with the family and friends, as they have purchased the gravesite for their loved ones.

What are the primary services performed?

Each visit from our specialist grave carers includes the following maintenance services: grass trimming around the headstone, plot edging, weed removal, debris clearing (including old flowers, plants, and litter), washing of memorial pot liners, and light cleaning of the headstone/memorial. We also document the monument's condition and offer recommendations for its long-term protection.

What if I don’t know the grave number OR ADDRESS?

The grave number is located on the back of your loved ones memorial, alternatively, the grave number can also be found on the deeds for the grave. You can also contact your local authority's burial department who may provide the details for a fee, fees vary between authorities. But don’t worry if you don’t have this, we can locate it for you for a one off fee of £29.00 We will then include your loved ones grave address details when we send our before and after confirmation to you, on completion of the visit, which can then be used to provide the details for any future services.

When will the services be performed?

Upon receiving your order and payment, we will schedule the requested work. Please be aware that we require a minimum of ten working days before our first visit to the grave. While we strive to accommodate special day visits for our SeasonCare packages, we cannot guarantee them within the initial ten days. Our grave tending services are available from Monday to Friday. For the seasoncare package, tending will be performed up to two days prior to your selected date.

Do you provide fresh cut flowers?

We provide our standard posy as the starting point for our floral tributes, we also provide the option to increase your floral tribute to a medium or large bouquet. Our specialist grave carers will select the most suitable seasonal flowers for your gravesite, taking into consideration the time of year, grave type, size, and location. They will also consider any personal preferences you may have from our available selections (subject to availability). All our flower options are carefully chosen to ensure they are suitable for UK cemeteries and churchyards.

Do you provide restoration services?

If our team identifies any repairs or additional maintenance needed for the memorial or kerb edging, we will provide you with a comprehensive report accompanied by detailed photographs. We are also happy to offer a 'no obligation' quotation for any necessary work during future visits, such as replacing old or missing grave vases, renewing stone/pebble/slate chippings, or performing turfing or topsoil work. Rest assured, any repairs to the memorial or inscription will be conducted by a skilled specialist monumental mason.

How will I know that the services have been completed?

We will notify you by email and provide a photograph as proof that work has been completed.

What is your service guarantee?

At Grave Care Co, we strive for complete customer satisfaction. If, for any reason you are not pleased with our service, please reach out to us and we will promptly address and resolve the issue. We value your feedback and are committed to ensuring your satisfaction. Please understand the age and impact of weather can cause the memorial to deteriorate. This can of course have an impact on the appearance of the memorial, despite having been thoroughly cleaned. Also, that occasionally the condition of the grave may be correctable only as a major restoration project.
